Goals

Why does Østfold have an international involvement?

• We have to be involved in the activities and events that happens in the world
• We are daily influenced by political, economical and cultural changes
• Østfold must exploit the opportunities and simultaneously influence the development

Main assignments

• Secretariat for Interreg IIIA Norway-Sweden program
• Follow up and coordinate participation in international organizations and environments
• Arrange and aid applicants in Interreg IIIB and IIIC programs 
• Contribute to find relevant information about EU-programs and projects
• Be a link between the Oslo region European office and the Østfold society
• Cooperate with the municipalities concerning international activities
• Contribute to improve international competence within Østfold county

Cooperation agreements

• FIN (Technical international network) – Cooperation between Østfold County Council and municipalities in Østfold
• Østlandssamarbeidet – Cooperation between the counties: Østfold, Akershus, Oslo, Hedmark, Oppland, Buskerud, Vestfold and Telemark
• Cesis – Cooperation agreement with the Cesis regions in Latvia
• The Scandinavian arena - From Oslo in the North, by Gothenburg, to Øresund in the South.
